20. yüzyılın modadaki en büyük devrimlerinden biridir " Küçük Siyah Elbise". 1920lerde Ralph Lauren'in ileri görüşlü ismi Jean Patou ve Coco Chanel'in yarattığı bir devrim. Aslında rengi ve modeli ile son derece basit bir buluştu. Her sosyal sınıftan kadının ilgisini çekti. Her kadının dolabında bulunmalıydı.Feminendi ancak erotik degildi. Sade ve şıktı. 1926'da Coco Chanel Vogue dergisinde KSE (Küçük Siyah Elbise) nin resmini yayınladığında, Vogue bu modeli o yılların efsane otomobili Ford'un Model T'si olarak lanse etti. Haklıydıda çünkü KSE artık her sosyal sınıftan kadının üniforması olacak ve de modası asla geçmeyecekti.
